HoloStudio

Now that Microsoft HoloLens Developer Edition is official, Microsoft is pushing out new apps, like HoloStudio, to the Windows Store for Windows 10. HoloStudio allows developers to upload, create, and manipulate 3d objects and create holograms. Microsoft has pushed out other HoloLens apps and games recently like, Fragments, Young Conker, Robo Raid, and Skype.

Here’s a video looking at what you can do with HoloStudio with HoloLens:

With Windows 10, HoloStudio will allow you do a variety of different things, including:

  • Create 3D in 3D, using a suite of mixed reality tools
  • Take mixed reality pictures and videos of your creations placed in the real world
  • Build directly on objects and surfaces around you
  • 3D-print your creations
  • Share your creations online

You can still download HoloStudio on Windows 10, but the app description warns: ÿour device doesn’t have the required hardware (HoloLens), so your app experience won’t match the some of the app reviews. HoloStudio doesn’t appear to be ready for primetime, as the app link is not currently working, but you should be able to get to it by pasting this link into your browser on Windows 10: ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=9NBLGGH5GGL9.
