Here’s how you can use Cortana as an intelligent flight assistant with Skyscanner

| |

Founded in 2003, Skyscanner is a global travel search engine that helps over 60 million people each month to find their travel options. Skyscanner was recently announced as one of the earliest third-party skills to be launched on Cortana.

Available only in US on Windows 10 as well as Cortana for iOS and Android, the flight search skill allows users to ask a range of handy, direct questions through Cortana to get quick and up-to-date information on flight queries.

The skill includes the ability to ask simple questions about indicative pricing on any flight route, in addition to the best time to book routes, and live flight status information. Skyscanner is able to conduct the conversation and surface answers about flights via both voice and visual cues, depending on which device the user engages with the skill on.

Skyscanner has been an early mover in the bots and conversational search space, and was one of the first company to launch chat bots on both Facebook’s Messenger platform and Skype, as well as on Amazon’s Alexa voice service.
