If you aren’t familiar, //Build/ (can we drop the slashes from here on?) is the annual Microsoft developer conference. Though, that’s a bit of a misnomer, as the press is also invited to come along for the ride, and announcements can be expected that are geared toward filling the news cycle. In other words, it’s the Redmond company’s version of Google I/O — there’s plenty of seminars to keep the real developers happy, but high profile announcements and gifts to get the press moving.
The show seems to be moving up the calendar a bit in 2014, as it previously took place in June. The announcement spotted earlier was apparently pushed out just a bit prematurely, as it was subsequently pulled. However, during it’s brief encounter with the public spotlight, we learned that Build would take place between April 2-4 at the Moscone Center, a popular venue for tech companies on the west coast.
The temporary post went a bit further, letting everyone know that registration will be open on January 14th. Have your fingers limber and near a keyboard, because these things tend to go quickly. Of course, all of this is subject to change, as it was pulled rather abruptly. Still, the site seemed fully formed and just waiting for the proper moment, so we shall just have to wait and see.Further reading: Build Developers Conference, Microsoft
