In an update to come soon, Halo Wars 2 will pick up 4K support for the upcoming Xbox One X and crossplay for Windows 10 and Xbox One gamers. Halo Wars 2 is one of the 70 Xbox games that will be enhanced for the Xbox One X launch on November 7, 2017. While there are a plethora of Xbox games being enhanced for the Xbox One X release, the upcoming Halo Wars 2 update will also include a number of bug and performance fixes.

Halo Wars 2 crossplay will be available in Campaign, Blitz Firefight, Terminus Firefight, Custom Games, and all unranked playlists on Windows 10 and Xbox One. Also coming is “Ranked 3v3 X War,” a new game playlist available specifically for crossplay. Full crossplay in Halo Wars 2 will be implemented in phases to ensure everything is working correctly and there are no gameplay issues.

Other content updates to come in the Halo Wars 2 update include:

Tournament play between members in the same club:

  • 1v1 Deathmatch – Rift
  • 1v1 Deathmatch – Bedrock
  • 2v2 Deathmatch – Sentry
  • 2v2 Deathmatch – Vault
  • 3v3 Deathmatch – Ashes
