The 2010 Halo anime series, Halo Legends, is now available to watch on the Netflix streaming service in select regions. The series is a collection of seven animated episodes that were each created by a different Japanese anime studio and were overseen by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) and 343 Industries. Microsoft worked heavily with the studios involved in the production of these animated shorts and Halo: Legends, for the most part, is considered to take place in continuity with the Halo video games and series. Halo Legends was fairly well-received by fans of the games though its strong Japanese influence can be jarring due to how Western the Halo games and numerous other spin-offs, such as the live action series, Halo: Forward Unto Dawn, are.
