Yesterday, Microsoft announced the Halo Summer Celebration, which includes a 4K update for Halo 5 Guardians, and backward compatibility for Halo 3, and 4. Well, another part of the initial Summer Celebration announcement is now live, as every Xbox 360 Halo add-on map pack in the Xbox Store is now free.
This means that all DLC for Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo: CE Anniversary are now free. including map and map packs. For instance, the Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack, and Halo 4 Forge Island are now all listed as free when searching the Xbox 360 Marketplace for “Halo.”
Now that every Xbox 360 Halo-add on map pack is free, fans of the Xbox exclusive franchise will no doubt have all they need to take advantage of the forthcoming backward compatibility of Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo: CE Anniversary on Xbox One. This will no doubt keep Halo players busy, as Halo 6 won’t be talked about by Microsoft anytime soon.
