Kinect

During the Xbox One reveal, Microsoft showcased how the new Kinect sensor will be an integral part of the new entertainment experience for Xbox. Microsoft even revealed that the new generation Kinect for Windows sensor would be delivered in 2014. Today, Microsoft is offering the opportunity to snag the new generation Kinect for Windows sensor so you can begin developing apps.

“Can’t wait for the new generation Kinect for Windows sensor? You can apply to take part in the Kinect for Windows developer kit program. This program, which begins in November 2013, will provide developers with tools and a pre-release sensor as soon as possible so they can start building new applications before general availability in 2014,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

In order to participate, you will have to fork over $399 in order to have direct access to the Kinect for Windows engineering team via a private forum and webcasts, as well as early SDK access and private access to all API and sample docs. Developers can also get their hands on a pre-release or alpha sensor and a final sensor at launch. Microsoft is accepting applications for this incentive by July 31st. Hit the source to apply.
