The F1 2020 and Gears 5 video games will both be free to play this coming weekend for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Xbox One and Xbox Series X (or S) consoles.

The Free Play period will begin rather soon at 12:01 AM on Thursday, May 20th and will run until the end of Sunday on May 23rd at 11:59 PM.

As with previous Free Play Weekend promotions, Gears 5 and F1 2020 will be playable in full as if participating players own the game outright. Players with an active Xbox Live Gold subscription will be able to download each title from the Store for free, unlock Xbox Achievements, and save their progress to the cloud for continuing at a later date.

Each game has also been temporarily discounted in the store with Gears 5 getting a 60% discount and F1 2020 getting a 75% discount.

Free Play Weekends are a weekly thing on Microsoft’s Xbox consoles. Last weekend focused on NBA 2K21 and TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2.
