Microsoft has rolled out a new update to the Games app in Windows 8 and Windows RT. The update features a new home panel that lets you see game screenshots and the ability to send text messages to friends.

“Discover the hottest new games, classics you love, and exclusives for Windows. Track your progress on the games you play, and see how you stack up against your friends. Plus, see what your friends are up to, send a message to a friend, and personalize your avatar. To see which features are available in your region, go to the Xbox Games feature list,” the app description reads.

So what’s new in this update?

– A new home panel that shows you information about your recent game activity, messages, achievements, and friends
– Letting you view and browse screenshots for games
– Letting you see and send text messages to friends
– Improvements to general browsing of games and game extras and app layout
– Additional minor fixes and improvements
