Microsoft Store

Microsoft is planning on launching five new scaled-down Microsoft retail stores in April of this year, according to a new report. For those that didn’t know, these scaled-down stores are pretty much pop-up stores that feature the best of what Microsoft has to offer, including the Surface tablet.

On the other hand, you have a full-scale Microsoft Store, which has everything, including Windows 8 PCs, Xbox, Kinect, accessories, services and more. With these scaled-down retail stores, Microsoft can offer some of its popular products to more consumers without the need of a large scale operation.

The five new stores will be located at the Fashion Place Mall (Murray, UT), International Plaza and Bay Street (Tampa, FL), King of Prussia Mall (King of Prussia, PA), Providence Place (Providence, RI), and Queens Center (Elmhurst, NY). The expected opening date will be in April, but no exact timeframe was given.

Microsoft has yet to open a “Microsoft Store” outside the United States and Canada, but the software giant did launch a partnership with Tmall.com recently to offer its popular products such as the Surface, Windows 8, and Office, in China.

Are you located near any of these five new store locations? What city do you wish Microsoft would open a store at?
