The Canary channel for Microsoft’s Chromium-based Edge Insider browser received a noteworthy update yesterday. In the version 126.96.36.199 of the app, Microsoft added more granular settings for the favorites bar, with a new option for only displaying it on new tabs. You can find this new option by opening the settings menu and go to Favorites > Show Favorites bar.
Some of you told us that you preferred to always hide the favorites bar (even on the new tab page), so @candicepoon and team added a more granular setting in today's #MicrosoftEdge Canary build. Enjoy! pic.twitter.com/tO0Jct7moz

Another interesting addition is a new dark mode which you can turn on both the Dev and Canary versions of the Edge Insider browser. The feature is available in edge://flags under “Microsoft Edge theme,” and turning it on will make all the UI go dark.
Wanna try out dark theme in the Edge preview builds?
Go to edge://flags and enable "Microsoft Edge theme" – then if you're using Windows in dark theme, Edge will be dark too 😊 pic.twitter.com/9PVlOnh0cb

If you haven’t tried it yet, you can download the new Edge Insider on this page. The new web browser is officially only compatible with Windows 10 PCs, but it should work fine on older versions of Windows including Seven.Further reading: dark theme, Edge Insider, Microsoft, Microsoft Edge
