Team eFitFashion and Satya Nadella

The Microsoft Imagine Cup World Championship is an annual event where tens of thousands of young technology student teams compete against each other throughout the year. The finals of the thirteenth championships started last week, and if you’ve been following along, you’ll remember we reported which teams made the final on Thursday. On Friday, the winning team was chosen, and Satya Nadella crowned Team eFitFashion from Brazil this year’s champions. EFitFashion happened also to be the same team who won in the Innovation category.

Team eFitFashion’s project is called Clothes For Me and is an online marketplace that sells custom clothes for all body types. Clothes for Me does this by generating individual patterns and bringing together seamstresses, customers and clothing firms into one place. Winners of the Imagine Cup, receive a face to face meeting with Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella, $50,000 in cash and a boot camp opportunity to help develop their project further.

Other winners include Team IzHard of Russia in the Games category and Team Virtual Dementia Experience of Australia in the World Citizenship category. These teams also received $50,000 in cash and the boot camp opportunity.
