Fallout Shelter coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 as Play Anywhere game next week

Fallout Shelter, the popular nuclear vault management simulator from Fallout 4 developer Bethesda, will be released on the Xbox One and Windows 10 as an Xbox Play Anywhere title on February 7. On Xbox Wire, the Xbox team explained that the game will be free to play, just like the pre-existing versions on iOS, Android and Windows PCs.

That’s right, the game was released on Windows PCs last year, a full year after the initial release on iOS and Android devices. Fallout Shelter was the first mobile game from Bethesda and it successfully introduced Fallout’s post-apocalyptic universe to a brand new audience: the game puts you in charge of an underground nuclear vault, and you’ll have to learn how to keep your dwellers happy and protect them from the dangers of the wasteland.

Like all Xbox Play Anywhere titles, gamers will be able to start playing the game on their Xbox One and then pick up where they left off on their Windows 10 PC, with shared progress and achievements. “The game has also been fully adapted to work with the Xbox One controller, so players can experience Vault life bigger and better, right from their TV,” explained the Xbox team. The free-to-play game is definitely a great addition to the Xbox Store and we can’t wait to try it next week.
