Fallout 4 won’t be coming to Xbox 360, fans will need an Xbox One, PS4, or PC to play

Fallout 4

Fans of the Fallout series are going to have to upgrade to a current gen console or be on a PC if they want to play Fallout 4. This is because it has now been confirmed that Fallout 4 will not be arriving on the Xbox 360 or any previous gen consoles.

With the announcement of Fallout 4 the internet has been set ablaze, with many saying it is “breaking the internet” because it has received more image searches than the now infamous Kim Kardashian photo. The Fallout fanbase is large and loyal so it’s likely that many of them that have not adopted the Xbox One or current gen of consoles will make the jump thanks to Fallout 4.  Since the series has not had a new game for so long, users have been able to play their favorite post-apocalyptic series on the Xbox 360 and other previous gen consoles.

As to why Fallout 4 will not be on older consoles, in a NeoGaff thread discussing the game Matt Garndstaff, the community manager, stated that “The stuff we’re doing will never work there.”

We are now firmly into the current generation of consoles and as we move forward, more and more major titles will only be available on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, or PC. As pointed out by Arstechnica, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Halo 5, Forza Motorsport 6, Uncharted 4, and Ratchet and Clank will not be available on previous generations of consoles.
