Facebook Messenger app update adds fun emoji reactions and mentions

| |

Facebook has some new features that might be familiar to users who happen to chat with Discord on the regular. The website is adding in "reactions," which will let you attach things like emojis onto posts that get sent to you in Messenger. Get a cute dog photo? You can throw a heart emoji or something onto it - just to get the point across that you like that dog.

Also coming into the fold for Messenger is the addition of Mentions - something that actually offers some practical use. Just @ someone in a group chat, and you'll be able to give them a notification through their Messenger app. This is especially useful for people who don't like to be bothered in relatively crowded group chats.

The changes are rolling out right now and should be available for the Messenger app soon.
