Facebook app for Windows 8.1 recieves welcoming update, adds new features

The official Facebook app, which was released on the same day of the Windows 8.1 (on October 17), has received some new features that will surely improve your experience if you are using this app.

Even though the Facebook app does not have all the features as the official social website, Microsoft has been frequently updating the official Facebook app to improve experience. In this new update, Microsoft has added the tagging feature, as well as improved the Live tiles. Here is a full breakdown of the new features:

  • Set windows profile pic when you upload a new profile pic
  • Download and upload files from messages
  • Download and upload photos from messages
  • Upload photos to a specific album
  • Choose and set your cover photo
  • Choose and set your profile picture
  • Use your profile picture as your Windows account picture
  • Add a secondary tile to go directly to messages (choose this from the app bar in messages view)

This app is one of the many apps that many users have been waiting for. With Facebook having an app, and given the popularity of the social service, this app and its updates are a welcomed addition to Windows 8.1.
