Evernote for Windows gets an update, adds image annotation and faster sync
Evernote is the competition for OneNote from Microsoft. Both essentially do the same thing, but features set the two apart. The latter service is available across pretty much every platform you could ask for, be it computer or mobile. Now the company is rolling out two new feature additions for its Windows desktop application.
First up is image annotation, something that was due for a long time. This will work with all sorts of images, including clipped web pages and even photos taken with Evernote on your phone. To utilize the new feature, simply hover the mouse over the image and a brand new Annotation button will appear. Click on it, point to a particular spot in the snapshot and options for stamps, add text and shapes, or crop and resize will appear.
The second addition is the new Fast Sync, which the company describes as “a major improvement in sync performance. In fact, in some cases, sync is so fast that you won’t notice it at all.” That’s handy given the cross-platform nature of the service.
In addition, there are the usual array of minor fixes and enhancements, which the company simply touts as “improved stability.” If you use Evernote then let us know what you think of the changes, and be sure to mention what platforms you utilize for the service.Evernote, Windows
