Microsoft Edge is getting a new Tab actions menu that should make it easier for users to manage their tabs within the browser. The feature is rolling out right now on the Canary update channel, and it appears to be available for some Insiders on version 91.0.863.0.

As noted by Reddit user Leopeva64-2, the Tab actions menu will enable users to manage the Vertical tabs and Collections experience more productively. Clicking on it will open a new flyout menu at the top of the screen, which will help you turn on Vertical tabs, access recently closed tabs, or add opened tabs to a new collection. It’s an optional feature, and users will be able to turn it on/off in Settings.

To enable the Tab actions menu on Microsoft Edge, head to Settings >> Appearance, and turn on the “Show tab actions menu” toggle. Once you turn on this feature, you will see that the Tab actions menu has replaced the Vertical tabs button that allows switching between vertical and horizontal tabs with a single click. Unfortunately, there is no way to get back the Vertical tabs button back for now, but we hope that the company will address this issue in a future update.

Keep in mind that the new Tab actions menu is still a work in progress, and it appears to be in a controlled rollout, which means that not everyone will see it at this time. However, it remains to be seen whether the Tab actions menu will eventually make its way to the general public.

The Tab actions menu is not the only new feature coming soon to Microsoft Edge. The Edge Insider team is currently testing many other updates in the Canary channel, including a new Performance mode, Workspaces experience, Math Solver, and more. The company has recently released a new Canary version of its Edge browser on the Google Play Store.
