Disney Infinity 3.0’s first major update has just gone live on the Xbox One and can now be installed either automatically in the background or manually by starting up the game while connected to the internet.

This update brings Disney Infinity 3.0 to version 2.0.0 (that’s version 2.0.0. of Disney Infinity 3.0, not to be confused with Disney Infinity 2.0 which was the completely separate previous entry in the series) and adds support for the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set and the several new figures which are due to officially launch on March 15th in North America. Many fans are already finding these figures for sale in stores ahead of the release date which could be why the update was pushed out ahead of schedule.

The new figures which are now supported in Disney Infinity 3.0 are Ant-Man, Black Panther, Vision, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Baloo (from The Jungle Book). There also appears to be added support for figures based on Disney’s upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass film even though these figures have yet to be officially announced.

A variety of in-game areas have also been updated to reflect the new batch of added figures and an expanded Hall of Heroes section hints at 12 more Disney characters to come by the end of 2017 (including the leaked Alice, Madhatter, Time, and the confirmed Peter Pan). Earlier today a Finding Dory Play Set was confirmed via an image on the back of a Kraft Mac & Cheese box (yes, really) so it makes sense that several characters from that film will fill these spots as well.

Disney Infinity 3.0 is an extremely popular toys-to-life video game that incorporates real physical models into the digital gameplay through the use of data chips hidden in their base. Players can level up their figures and use them in other versions of the game on other consoles. Since Disney Infinity 1.0, the franchise has expanded to include not just Disney and Pixar creations but also characters from Marvel and Star Wars.
