The Standard edition of CyperLink’s PowerDVD 18 is on sale for just $34.99, a savings of $10 of the official $44.99 price tag. Those looking for a full-featured DVD player application for Windows must purchase the software before November 5th if they wish to take advantage of the offer.
PowerDVD separates itself from all the basic DVD player apps for Windows by adding many features to enhance the viewing experience, including upscaling movies to HD, enhancing color reproductions, and tuning the audio to boost bass levels and increase vocal range. The application also features Mini View, which displays a small video player at the corner of the screen that’s pinned in front of all the other applications, much like the picture-in-picture mode that many video applications are starting to support.
The app isn’t currently supported in S Mode enabled Windows 10 devices, so if you’re someone with one of those devices, you’ll either need to disable it or download Microsoft’s own DVD player for $14.99.
