The original Xbox 360 Crackdown video game is being given away for free to all Xbox 360 and Xbox One console owners to build hype for the launch of Crackdown 3 on Xbox One and Windows 10 this month.

Crackdown is an open-world action title that originally launched on the Xbox 360 back in 2007, just over 10 years ago. It was praised by many fans and critics for its solid multiplayer gameplay and was one of the first online sandbox video games released.

The game was also given away for free back in November of last year but that was something that was noticed by many eagle-eyed Xbox owners and got almost zero attention from official Xbox and Microsoft sources.
