Cortana reportedly coming for Windows Phone users in the UK this month

CortanaCortana, Microsoft’s answer to Siri and Google Now, is one of the most interesting features in Windows Phone 8.1. At the moment, the feature is only available for users in the US, but it was mentioned that UK and China will be the next batch of countries to get the feature, possibly by the end of this month. Not too long ago, Windows Phone UK posted a teaser on Twitter, hinting at the availability of the feature very soon, and now, another report suggests it will launch by the end of this month.

Neowin, citing their source at Microsoft who wishes to remain anonymous, said Cortana will land in the UK this month, although the exact availability date is still unknown. There’s a possibility that we may see the feature along with the Windows Phone 8.1 roll out for existing handsets, but that’s just a speculation.

Nokia Lumia 630 is available in the UK, but Cortana is not available, until you are ready to play around with the regional settings. Along with support for British accents, the voice assistant also provides localized searches through the notebook feature.

Let’s hope it lands in the UK this month. Microsoft did announce that it will come to other regions as well, but I’m not sure if we’re going to see it in regions other than China and UK this month. What do you think?
