Computacenter boosts managed services offering with Mimecast partnership

Leading provider of IT services to deliver Mimecast’s cloud-based email security, archiving and continuity services

17 February 2011 – London: Mimecast®, a leading supplier of cloud-based email security, continuity and archiving, has today announced a new partnership with Computacenter, one of Europe’s leading providers of IT infrastructure services. The alliance marks a significant step forward for both companies, helping them to meet the rapidly growing demand for cloud-based managed services, and follows the recent launch of Computacenter cloud computing(C3), and cloud email product, C3Mail.

Computacenter chose Mimecast over other email specialists after carrying out a period of in-depth technical analysis and receiving a number of endorsements from existing Mimecast customers. The UK-wide partnership will cover all of Mimecast’s product range including long-term email archiving, security, eDiscovery and continuity. Computacenter will be offering Mimecast’s services with an extensive knowledge transfer and training scheme already up and running.

“To be chosen as a best of breed vendor by such a well respected player in the UK market is a fantastic testament to the strength of our technology and the superb service we provide to every one of our clients,” Mary Kay Roberto, VP Sales North America and Europe for Mimecast. “The past year has seen demand for cloud-based services grow markedly and this looks set to continue throughout 2011 as IT departments look to deliver business critical technology services better, faster and more cost-effectively. Our partnership with Computacenter will help us expand the scope of our services, allowing us to add to our great portfolio of customers.”

Matt Lovell, CTO for Computacenter, added: “With email volumes growing exponentially within most businesses, having a robust, scalable email archiving and eDiscovery platform has never been more important. “Our C3 approach supports companies in taking a pragmatic approach to blended IT service delivery, and an important aspect of this is ensuring solid enterprise security. After conducting an extensive analysis of the products and services on the market, we chose to add Mimecast to our list of vendors to complement our C3Mail product. We are delighted to be working with Mimecast and look forward to building a close partnership with them over the coming years.”
