CES 2020: Lenovo unveils new gaming laptops, eGPUs, monitors & accessories for 2020

Beyond its workplace offerings, Lenovo pioneers an arguably comparable gaming division that executes the company’s vision of PC gaming and this year at CES 2020 Lenovo looks to thread the line of commingling of enterprise design and future-leaning game specs.

Lenovo Legion Y740S Available: May 2020

Starting at $1,099.99

First up is an update to Lenovo’s Legion Y series with the Y740S which touts itself as featuring “high panel quality and brightness with 4K UHD display and Dolby Vision.

Other features include 10th Gen Intel Processors to i9 chipsets configurations as well as Lenovo’s Q-Control leveraging the Fn+Q keys to enable. The Y740S also includes performance modes that can be toggled for higher screen refresh rates, brighter screens, and better battery life.

Laptop gamers could also be impressed by the level of detail on the Y740S that includes a rejiggered keyboard offering higher support upport system in place, to get you up and playing video in no time.

The Lenovo Y740S is perhaps the company’s most understated “gaming” designed laptop with its Iron Grey metal finish and subtle LEGION logo light up.

However, the Y740S laptop can be filled to the brim with gaming specs that include support for 100 percent of Adobe sRGB color gamut and pushes up to 600 nits of brightness. Combined with VESA certification and Dolby Vision that pushes 60Hz refresh rates to help reduce the latency in FPS games.

The Y740S laptop also ushers in Lenovo’s first commercial product that can be coupled with the company’s first-ever external eGPU companion accessory dubbed the Lenovo Legion BoostStation.

For the hardcore gamer on the go, Lenovo has created the Boost!Station external GPU device that host both NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon with support for other unspecified eGPU’s available. The entire package supports various gaming modes such as Mixed and Augmented realities.

Supporting the heart-pounding graphics of both NVIDIA® GeForce® and AMD® Radeon™, the Lenovo Legion BoostStation with aluminum build and cool transparent side panel is compact and fits on virtually any playing surface at just under 20lbs (9.07kg); it’s also 100 percent tool-free and allows for super-fast charging4. Mixed-reality features (augmented or virtual reality) are supported with applicable specifications via the eGPU.
