Build 2016: Destination Mars lets you walk on the red planet with HoloLens

Michael Cottuli

If you weren’t already convinced that HoloLens was made to let us walk into the future with the bleeding edge of technology, NASA has made yet another huge advancement in the way that we interact with the world – and, in fact, how we get to interact with other worlds. NASA is opening up Destination Mars, an exhibit that works in conjunction with HoloLens to let people walk on Mars using captures taken of the surface of the red planet. While it seems like you’re going to need to go to the physical exhibit in order to get the whole experience, there may be portions of it that you can experience just by owning a HoloLens, considering the fact that Microsoft claimed that Destination Mars was available to experience on the floor at Build. We’ll have more on this as it develops.
