The video game is the third main entry within the Borderlands franchise and supports online multiplayer for up to four players, local multiplayer for two players, and 4K Ultra HD visuals when played on an Xbox One X console.

The regular release comes with the base game while the Borderlands 3 Deluxe Edition comes with the game and the Retro Cosmetic Pack, the Neon Cosmetic Pack, the Gearbox Cosmetic Pack, the Toy Box Weapons Pack, and Equippable XP & Loot Drop Boost Mods.
The Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition comes with everything in the Deluxe Edition plus the season pass for future downloadable content.
