This Saturday, November 10, the Xbox team will bring back its “XO” fan event to Mexico City with a special XO18 show that will be live-streamed on the Internet. We already know that Xbox head Phil Spencer will be here, and there will also be a new FanFest event following the one held in Paris last week, which we attended.

The Xbox team has already started the teasing machine this week, announcing “big” PUBG news, a new update for State of of Decay 2, and “more exclusive looks.” It’s now been nearly a year since PUBG was released as a console launch exclusive on the Xbox One, and the timed-exclusivity deal between Microsoft and PUBG Corp will soon be coming to an end. Indeed, Eurogamer is reporting today that the popular battle royale game will launch on Playstation 4 in December, just a couple of weeks after it was rated for this platform in South Korea.
The presence of Phil Spencer at XO18 suggests that we could hear some pretty major announcements: We’re likely to hear about more new games getting support for mouse & keyboard on the Xbox One, a feature that will enabled with the Xbox One 1811 update. And after Phil Spencer also announced four studio acquisitions back at E3 2018, we may well hear him announce another one which could be RPG maker Obsidian Entertainment.
XO18 should also be a good opportunity for the Xbox team to announce new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in November. Moreover, we may get some fresh Xbox One Backward Compatibility news, and it’s been a while since we last saw new Original Xbox games being added to the list.
Last but not least, it seems pretty clear now that the Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive is coming to PC. A Windows version of the game has recently been rated by the ESRB, and the game has also been spotted on Steam database (via Wccftech). Four years after its Xbox One debut, the online shooter will soon get the much bigger audience it deserves.
Do you think Microsoft could have other exciting announcements in the pipeline for its XO18 event? Sounds off in the comments below.
