E3 2016: Bethesda announces Quake Champions

Michael Cottuli

Bethesda knew that they had to open up E3 2016 with something huge, and they delivered on that immediately. The first thing we saw when Bethesda started up its press conference this year was the announcement of Quake Champions. Quake, of course, is one of the most revolutionary games in multiplayer shooting games – and a franchise that’s still played today, despite the fact that the last game came out some time ago. All we really know about it is that it’s going to operate somewhat like Overwatch, with characters having unique abilities. Whether this affects the classic style of Quake or not is yet to be seen.

We have no news as to the release date of Quake Champions, but we know that it’s going to be making an appearance at Quakecon this August – not much of a surprise to anyone. We’ll be covering more of Quake Champions as more info drops – you can be sure that there’s going to be a ton of news in the coming months for this.
