It’s April 28th and its time to look at the best, top, and most popular Windows 8 apps currently available in the Windows Store. We will go over some stats for the Windows Store, as well as highlight a few apps for your downloading pleasures!

Currently in the Windows Store, the top five free apps in the United States based on popularity are:

As of April 28th, there are 65,468 apps in the Windows Store. The number of apps have gone up significantly over the past month, seeing over 10,000 apps being added to the Store. Of course, one can always argue the old “quality vs quantity” aspect of the Windows Store, but we won’t go into that. As you can see from the screenshot below, based on data from MetroStore Scanner, the Windows Store saw a steady increase in apps this month.

The app features the ability to safely share files with anyone, the ability to access your items from any device, and the ability to automatically scan your items for viruses before you share any file. Users can also control who can access your shared folders. Files are also automatically synced across your devices and you can even restore files within the past 90 days.
