Battlefield 1 will be free to play this weekend with Xbox Live Gold

Microsoft revealed today that Battlefield 1 will be free to play this weekend from September 22nd-September 24th with Xbox Live Gold. Gamers will be able to download the title for free from the Gold Member area on the Xbox dashboard, or by checking the Xbox Store.

During the free play period, gamers with Xbox Live Gold can also save 40% on Battlefield 1 Revolution. This version of the game comes with the base game, and all the additions of the Premium Pass, and four digital expansion packs. Those who already own the base game can still save 40% on the purchase of the on Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, giving access to two recently released expansion packs.

As a reminder, if you decide to purchase the full game during the trial period, all Gamerscore and achievements earned during this event period will be yours to keep. Your saved data from the trial will also be carried over to the full game. Battlefield 1 is the fifteenth installment in the Battlefield series and the first main entry in the series since Battlefield 4. Set in the time period of World War 1, the game is inspired by historical events, and brings you into the dawn of all-out warfare, where no battle is ever the same.
