It is no great secret that the current-generation of consoles has enjoyed nothing near the great exclusives seen in generations past. The likes of Gears of War, Fable, and Mass Effect have either gone cross-platform, are on hiatus or have lost direction, meaning that so called ‘re-masters’ have become very de rigeur.

According to new rumours, celebrated titles Batman Arkham Asylum and Batman Arkham City will become the next titles to receive such treatment. Released to critical and audience acclaim, these popular games are widely credited with having restored the prestige of the ‘Batman’ name in the videogame world.

IGN Italy expects the titles to be available for purchase around Christmas, so if you are chomping at the bit to sock a few of the Joker’s clownish goons in the jaw, you have a while to wait. As this is yet unverified by Warner Bros, don’t hold your breath, but good things may yet come.

Would you pick up these titles if they were re-mastered? Let us know in the comments below. In the mean time, check out Batman Arkham Knight in action below, set for a global release on 06/23/15 (yes, it was delayed again for the 100th time).
