According to a report from Windows Latest, Bank of America will drop support for its Windows 10 app at the end of July. There’s no word on why, and an in-app message is apparently alerting users of the impending shutdown on both PC and Windows 10 Mobile.

The app has steadily been updated over the past few years and was once one of the top UWPs, so it is surprising to see the app shut down. Users are instead being directed to use the Bank of America website, which is more feature complete. “Our Windows app will no longer be available at the end of July. However, you can go to bankofamerica.com to use Online Banking,” reads the message in the app.

We’re hoping that Bank of America may be shutting down this old UWP app in favor of a PWA, which Microsoft is now dubbing “First Class Citizens” in Windows 10. More will likely develop in this saga in the coming months, so best to keep tuned for more.
