Asus announces VivoTab 8, a decent Windows 8.1 tablet with an affordable price tag

Asus has launched the VivoTab 8 (M81C), an affordable Windows 8 tablet, which comes without a stylus. This is a new variant of VivoTab Note 8 which the company launched earlier this year.

The VivoTab 8 (M81C) sports an 8-inch screen with a screen resolution of 1200 x 800. Inside the device sits an Intel Atom Bay Trail Z3745 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage memory. The VivoTab 8 comes with another variant that offers 2GB of RAM with same processor and screen specs. It sports a 2MP shooter at both the front and rear ends, and while there is support for Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, the device isn’t 3G or LTE capable.

While the company hasn’t announced the price just yet, it is unlikely to go beyond $200, as the VivoTab 8 with stylus was priced at $250. But do note that for that price you are also getting one year subscription of Microsoft Office 365 for free, which alone will cost you about $70 if purchased separately. The tablet comes in four color options: black, white, purple, or gold.
