Thirty-six years after the original Alien lure, it seems we are still captivated by Ridley Scott’s classic tale of aliens. Alien: Isolation originally launched on October 7, 2014 and was featured in Xbox’s Deals with Gold back in May. This title was a fairly impressive video game adaption as it truly captured the art direction and sound design of the original film, pitting players in a space ship filled with Xenomorphs and androids on the prowl. As about 99% of the AI in Isolation is unscripted, you never really know what your stalkers will do or where they will appear, creating an extremely terrifying and stressful survivor horror.
In this title, gamers play as Amanda, the daughter of Ellen Ripley from the original movie, as she seeks to unravel the mystery of her mother’s disappearance. This title forces players to scavenge for resources while devising solutions to problems and puzzles all while being hunted by almost impervious aliens.
Since its original release, Alien Isolation has seen a number of DLC (downloadable content) packs. Each new pack includes unique maps and challenges, all of which are now available in one massive collection for the Xbox One.
