As of January 19th, there are 144,739 apps in the Windows Store, an increase of 776 apps in just one week. A bit of a slow week for new apps compared to previous weeks. The Windows Store is close to reaching the 150,000 app milestone, which is no surprise since over a thousand apps are being added to the Store on average, every week.

Let’s dive in and take a look at the most popular Windows 8.1 and Windows RT apps available in the Windows Store. We will go over some stats for the Windows Store, including the top five paid apps and top five free apps. For example, this new update now adds a “last seen” affordance so show you were you last left off. The update also adds various improvements and bug fixes.

AppFeds is a new online tool, which launched this week, that aims to provide statistics, app data, and app discovery for the Windows Store. With AppFeds, you can track the Windows Store and see which apps are trending, as well as see the stats of your published app. You can even review and rate apps directly via the AppFeds website. This is a fantastic resource worth checking out.
