You can disable the startup sound of your Windows 11 through Windows Settings:

  1. Open the Settings (press Windows key + I).
  2. From the Settings menu, click on Personalization.
  3. Select the Themes > Sounds.
  4. In the Sound dialog box, uncheck the ‘Play Windows Startup Sound’ radio box.
  5. Click on Apply.

As soon you power on your Windows 11, you’ll get to hear the new startup sound provided by Microsoft.

Although Microsoft had disabled this default sound for Windows 10, with the new Windows 11 they have decided to bring it back. But if you’d like you keep the sound turned off, it can be done rather easily.

Windows 10 computers come with a disabled startup sound effect by default. However, if you’d manually enabled the sound settings but would like to go back now, all you have to do is follow the steps from below:

  1. Right-click on the speaker icon from the system tray below.
  2. Click on Sounds.
  3. In the Sound dialog box, uncheck the ‘Play Windows Startup sound’ option and click on OK.

Do this and the startup sound will be disabled on your Windows 10.
