Maximize a YouTube video in Microsoft Edge the cool way

Here’s a cool feature in Microsoft Edge that you won’t find on Firefox or Chrome — the ability to maximize a YouTube video in Microsoft Edge while resizing the Edge browser! How cool is that?

As you can see in the image below, you can resize the Edge browser while maintaining a “full-screen” YouTube video that fills up the entire browser screen. I mean, it technically isn’t considered “full-screen” when using this method, but it does allow the video to take up the entire browser real-estate regardless of the browser’s size. Here’s how to achieve this.

  • Play a video on YouTube
  • Click the full-screen button on the YouTube player
  • Hover to the top-right of the screen, pause for a second, and click the restore button on Edge
  • Bam! You can now watch YouTube videos in a whole new manner!

Try it out for yourself and let us know in the comments below if you like this neat little feature. There are still improvements that need to be made, for example, it can be a bit hard to move the Edge browser window around your desktop once you have a YouTube video playing in full-screen mode.
