How to enable ‘God Mode’ in Windows 10 and get access to hidden settings

Jonny Caldwell

“God Mode” is a hidden feature of Windows that has been around for a while providing additional customization options for the operating system. Despite its name, however, it’s not as super powerful as you might think. It does ‘unhide’ a few settings that are hidden from the control panel. Here’s how you can enable it in Windows 10:

To enable God Mode, first make sure your computer has administrative privileges. Right-click on the desktop, mouse over Create, and click on Folder. Name the folder GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} and then hit enter to confirm. If you’d like to name the folder something else, just replace the GodMode in the name with whatever you want.

The average user probably wouldn’t use this feature, but it’s nice to know Microsoft is still offering this for those people who really like customization and want all of Windows tweaks and settings to be found in one place.
