Since 2014, The Game Awards ceremony has been honouring the best video games released during the year. The annual show hosted by Canadian video games journalist will be held later today at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and the software giant is celebrating the event today with a limited-time Game Awards sale on the Xbox Store.

Until tomorrow, December 13, you can take advantage of up to to 75% discounts on games such as Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Borderlands 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Control, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, Devil May Cry 5, Mortal Kombat 11, Metro Exodus, and more. Gears 5, Microsoft’s latest AAA game which received two nominations is also 50% off, while Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds is 25% off.

The latter received a total of 4 nominations for the Game Awards 2019, including one for Game of the Year. Obsidian Entertainment is turning out to be a great acquisition for Microsoft, as The Outer Worlds has been doing very well for a brand new IP without an AAA budget. Now with Microsoft’s backing, we can only hope that this will become a very valuable franchise for Microsoft in the near future.

The Game Awards 2019 ceremony will kick off at 5:30 PM PT today, and Xbox head Phil Spencer will come back to the stage this year. The show will be live-streamed on many platforms including Microsoft’s Mixer, where you’ll be able to earn free “Mixpot” digital rewards if logged in with your Microsoft account.
