Microsoft has announced some important updates for Office insiders on macOS. The latest update a few new features, including a new pin messages option in Outlook and a sweet dark mode update for Word.

In Word, Microsoft has introduced an improved dark mode experience, which was also added in Word for Windows in February this year. Until now, the dark mode in Word has only been available in the ribbon and toolbars, but the canvas stays bright white. Now, in addition to that, users can also turn on dark mode in the canvas by going to Settings > General > Appearance > Dark.

In addition, Outlook is getting the ability to pin messages to the top of the inbox. The pinning option should make it easier for users to keep track of their important emails, though it is only supported in the new Outlook for Mac experience. To pin a message, hover over it, and then click the Pin icon that’s available at the right corner of the message title. This feature is already available in Outlook on the web, and it’s also coming to iOS and Android users.
