The Windows Phone Store is home to over 300,000 Windows Phone apps, with new apps coming in on a weekly basis. Let’s take a look at the Windows Phone Store and see which apps are at the top of the charts when it comes to the free, paid, and trending categories. We’ll also highlight some of these apps that have made it to the top of the charts.
As of October 11th, the top-five free apps in the Windows Phone Store (United States) are Messenger, OneDrive, Facebook, Pandora, and Instagram Beta. The top-five paid apps are Aerize Explorer Pro, Movie Maker 8.1, Start Design, Windows Phone Wallpapers, and Metrotube. The top-five trending apps are AppStore WorldWide, Microsoft XIM, Watch Disney Channel, Flipboard, and UC Browser WP8.1.
The top-five free games in the Windows Phone Store are Asphalt Overdrive, Age of Empires, Subway Surfers, Fit Fat, and Despicable Me Minion Rush. The top-five paid games are Plants vs Zombies, Cut The Rope Exp, Angry Birds, Sonic CD, and Duet.
As you can see, the top-five free apps list features the same apps as the previous week. Movie Maker 8.1 and Start Design remain a popular choice amongst paid apps, and the top-five paid games remain the same as well with Plants vs Zombies, Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, and Sonic CD retaining the same spots for the past few weeks.
