Amazon might be building its own office suite to jump in competition with Google and Microsoft. At least, that’s what a report from Apple Insider said earlier today.

Claims have risen up that the updates to the Amazon WorkMail calendar app and WorkDocs file storage are only the tip of the iceberg. The suite supposedly in development is a bit hush-hush but further speculation suggests that it might be targeting the AWS enterprise customers primarily.

This includes the use of the AWS AppStream that includes the two apps for a fee to enterprise customers. The Information.com stated that a select few larger corporations have been told directly that these apps will be bundled into the new productivity suite to compete in the market.

It’s safe to say that for now, Google and Microsoft don’t have much to worry about. So far, the WorkMail and WorkDocs aren’t particularly much to write home about just yet and according to the report, Amazon business partners say that they aren’t even selling very well.
